ABOUT SBHA

Program Vision, Outputs, and Key Activities

The vision of the SBHA is to assist districts and schools in responding to the child and adolescent mental health crisis by integrating behavioral health into the Multi-tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework.

The SBHA combines an innovative online learning management system (LMS) and in-person coaching to promote positive mental health and enhance the school success of students by equipping staff to:

  • Understand and recognize mental health issues
  • Broadly promote mental health for students, family, and staff
  • Proactively identify and assist those with more intensive needs through evidence-based early intervention

SBHA Goals 

Create mental health literacy content in an online format for all school staff and community stakeholders

Provide coaching support to targeted school districts

Develop a school mental health community of practice

Encourage licensure for school mental health clinicians and provide CE opportunities for maintenance
